Four time All-American Diver Kara McCormack led the
way for the JAGS with her second consecutive
State title and another State record as well!
Kara has signed a National Letter of Intent with the
University of Miami and will continue to dominate
the competition there next year.
Senior McCrea Kempf came home with two medals
earning a silver medal in the 100 Freestyle and a
Bronze in the 50 Freestyle. McCrea has not narrowed
his choices down yet but has many opportunities to
swim in college as well.
Sophomore Kevin Ku placed 8th in the 200 Individual
Medley and 9th in the 500 Freestyle. This improves
the LBJ streak of having at least 1 state qualifier
in the 500 Freestyle to 9 years in a row!
The Boys 400 Freestyle Relay of David Wolfson, Kevin
Sweetman, Kevin Ku and McCrea Kempf placed 9th as
well.
- Kara McCormack was named Girl's Diver of the Meet
and Diver of the Year.
- Coach Lee Willing was named Girl's Diving Coach of
the Year
- The Boys team finished in 12th place and the Girls
team was 22nd
Congratulations to the LBJ Swimming & Diving Teams! The Boys are 2011 UIL District 27-4A Champions and the Girls are District Runner-Up. In the closest District meet to date the Jag Swimmers and Divers were a dominant force and advanced most of the team to the Region 7-4A meet in San Antonio February 3-5, 2011. The Region 7-4A meet will be the fastest 4A Regional Championship in UIL history. Highlights of the District meet include:
