Eastside Memorial at LBJ

Parents Night

Congratulations Alexis Hyder

LBJ senior forward Alexis Hyder and Pflugerville senior guard Ari Booth were two of 293 girls basketball players from across the nation who were nominated for McDonald’s All-American status on Wednesday. The list of nominees will be dwindled down to 24 names on Feb. 9 for the March 28 all-star game in Chicago.

Hyder is a two-time All-Central Texas first team honoree who is averaging 38.7 points per game over LBJ’s seven district contests this season.

Hyder and Booth are aiming to become the Central Texas’ area’s fourth and fifth McDonald’s All-Americans. Anderson’s Kris Clack (1995), Westlake’s Brad Buckman (2002) and Georgetown’s Krystal Forthan (2011) are the area’s only All-American honorees.

Bob Hayes served as a Counselor and Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at LBJ for more than 18 years.  Coach Hayes passed away while getting ready to coach in the 2010 Fort Worth Coca Cola Classic.  To honor Coach Hayes, the Bob Hayes Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to create scholarships for college-bound boys basketball players at LBJ.  A tax deductible donation can be made thru the Austin Community Foundation at: www.austincommunityfoundation.org.
